This summer, 60 children from 8 to 12 years old from Østerbro Lilleskole will create a site-specific performance around the theme “The meeting with the unknown”, guided and directed by artists from GLiMT. They will be introduced to circus and physical theatre disciplines by 3 professional performers, with whom they will also get to learn the basis of creation process.
This educational project will allow the children to discover a large variety of circus and dance disciplines such as acrobatics, acting, choreography and partnering, as well as how to express a theme with their body in front of others.
Finally in two intense working weeks, they will create their own site specific performance, which will be presented by the end of June.
This project is created in collaboration between GLiMT and the schoolteachers from the school. The children will be discussing the topic of the performance during their regular classes, but also incorporate all their regular creative classes like music creation, building props, scenography and costumes during the creation process.
